Part two of our summer adventure took us back north from Grand Teton into Yellowstone National Park. Summertime is the busiest time in these two parks because much of the year there is snow. This is where it is nice to have our little Scamp Birdie, we were able to stay at the Fishing Bridge RV Park which is right in the middle of the park making it easier to get to all the different sites.

For our big summer trip with the Scamp we headed to the Continental Divide to see Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone and hike to Taggart Lake. What an incredible trip, these are two magnificent national parks that we highly recommend visiting!
Leave a CommentEvery spring and summer we notice a few nests show up in our yard or neighborhood and this year was no different. Conveniently for us a pair of Dark-eyed Junco’s decided to place their nest in our hanging flower basket right outside our front door.
Leave a CommentAs summer closes I have been reminiscing at some of our adventures and I am reminded that some of our best memories happened only five minutes from our home. Living in the PNW, we are lucky to be surrounded by water and in the summers we get to spend time enjoying the scenery in a variety of ways.
Leave a CommentFor our second trip with Birdie (the Scamp) we were a little late for reserving a campsite with RV space. Luckily we found someone had cancelled their reservation (we met them, friendly neighbors that had booked two sites but ended up only needing one) at Curlew Lake State Park just outside of Republic, WA.
Leave a CommentA few weeks back I noticed my strawberry patch was getting thinner. And it wasn’t the strawberries going missing although they were just starting to ripen, nope, it was the entire plant.
Leave a CommentWe have been looking at lightweight travel trailers for a few years now and were lucky enough to find and purchase a 16 ft. Scamp this May! We had to give our Scamp a nickname so ‘Birdie’ we decided was a fitting title. Our first trip with Birdie we went all the way to the south east corner of the state to Field Springs State Park to see the Blue Mountains.
Leave a CommentWe had made about three different trips to the Tri-Cities or Walla Walla area this spring, and each time had noticed on eBird there were always multiple Barn Owl sightings off of Dodd Road about 15 minutes past where the Snake River meets the Columbia.
Leave a CommentWe love our neighborhood Anna’s Hummingbirds here in Edmonds and though we rarely see any other species around here, there are four Hummingbirds you can see in Washington State if you know where to look.
1 CommentBack to Whidbey Island for a Memorial Day weekend visit. We took some time early one morning to head into the South Whidbey State Park forest to see what we would find. There are some very large old-growth trees here, a great place for birding as is most of Whidbey Island.
