As summer closes I have been reminiscing at some of our adventures and I am reminded that some of our best memories happened only five minutes from our home. Living in the PNW, we are lucky to be surrounded by water and in the summers we get to spend time enjoying the scenery in a variety of ways.

Sometimes you head out in search of some birds and happen upon something a little different. This weekend we had the pleasure of observing this family of river otters between Crockett Lake and Admiralty Bay just east of the Coupeville Ferry on Whidbey Island.
Leave a CommentThere we were in the forest on a quest to spot and capture the image of a Great horned owl. The temperature was cool, the air moist and the atmosphere calm. We knew it was just a matter of time because in previous days we had spotted our friends.
1 CommentFour years ago I had the opportunity to visit Puerto Vallarta for the first time to celebrate one of my favorite people as he stepped into his 40th year around the sun. It was my first trip away from my little family since I became a mom and, though I was anxious about leaving my husband and kids for that trip, the anxiety quickly melted away when I took my first step into that beautiful sunshine.
1 CommentSome people make resolutions at the start of a new year. I admire them, but I can’t bring myself to commit. It’s enough work getting through the “daily grind”, why add extra items to my “to do” list? Instead, I choose one word that I can use to guide me throughout the year. This year, the word is EXPLORE!
1 CommentSome may view New Year’s Eve as the closing of a year, but I see it as a sign of what is to come. This peek into the future was particularly special this year because we had a phenomenal day exploring Theler Wetlands Trail located in Belfair, WA at the end of the Hood Canal.
